Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration: Everything Officially Revealed So Far
KAMEX TEAMThirty years ago, a pair of Game Boy games launched in Japan and quietly changed the world. What began as an adventure centered on catching Pokémon, trading with friends, and battling became one of the most successful entertainment franchises ever created. This September, Pokémon celebrates that milestone with something the Trading Card Game has never done before: a simultaneous worldwide launch for a major expansion.
The Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration expansion is more than another anniversary set. It is designed to celebrate three decades of the Pokémon Trading Card Game with an ambitious product lineup, new mechanics, nostalgic callbacks, and a release strategy unlike any previous expansion.

The First Global Launch
September 16, 2026, is a date every Pokémon TCG fan should have on their calendar.
For the first time in the history of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, a major expansion will launch simultaneously across participating regions worldwide. Rather than Japan receiving the set weeks or months before other markets, collectors around the globe will be able to open packs on the very same day.
It marks a significant shift in how The Pokémon Company is approaching one of its most important releases, with additional anniversary products scheduled throughout the fall to continue the celebration.
What Launches on September 16
Elite Trainer Box
The Elite Trainer Box is expected to be one of the most popular products for launch day collectors. It includes nine Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration booster packs, an exclusive Nidorina promo card, card sleeves, Energy cards, dice, damage counters, a player's guide, and a collector's storage box with accessories.
For many collectors, this will be the best all-around product to experience the new expansion.
30th Celebration ex Boxes
Two versions will be available: one featuring Sylveon ex and one featuring Greninja ex. Each includes its featured promo card along with booster packs and additional collectibles, making them appealing options for fans of either Pokémon.
Poster Collection
The Poster Collection celebrates the original Legendary Bird trio with promo cards featuring Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, along with booster packs and a collectible poster. Collectors who enjoy Generation I nostalgia will find this one especially appealing.
Tech Sticker Collection and Mini Tins
These products provide more affordable ways to experience the set while still including booster packs and exclusive collectibles. They are excellent options for newer collectors, gift giving, or anyone looking to open additional packs without purchasing larger products.
The Celebration Continues Throughout the Fall
The anniversary does not end on launch day.
Beginning October 2, Pokémon will release additional products, including themed Mini Tins and a Binder Collection inspired by Espeon and Umbreon.
On October 30, Pokémon will release Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks, offering ready-to-play decks centered around two of the franchise's most beloved Eeveelutions.
The celebration continues into November and December with additional collectible tins and Ultra Premium Collections, giving collectors even more ways to participate throughout the remainder of the anniversary year.
What Makes This Set Different
The products themselves are exciting, but the booster packs are what truly make 30th Celebration stand apart.
Every booster pack includes five foil Pokémon cards, one foil Basic Energy card, and one Pokémon TCG Live code card. That means every playable card inside the pack features a foil treatment, making this the first Pokémon TCG expansion built entirely around foil cards.
Every booster pack also guarantees one of thirty unique Pikachu foil cards, each illustrated by a different artist. Completing all thirty Pikachu cards is expected to become one of the biggest collecting goals of the anniversary.
The expansion also brings back thirty classic Pokémon cards from throughout the Trading Card Game's history, reimagined for the modern era. While only some of these cards have been revealed so far, the full lineup will celebrate memorable moments from the game's past.
Another major addition is the debut of Futuristic Rare cards, an entirely new rarity introduced specifically for the 30th Celebration expansion. Although The Pokémon Company has not yet revealed every card in this rarity, it is already generating significant excitement among collectors.
What Collectors Will Be Watching
Several aspects of the set are already drawing attention.
The thirty Pikachu foil cards will almost certainly become one of the defining collectibles of the anniversary. Because every pack contains one, many collectors will likely attempt to complete the full thirty-card collection featuring artwork from different artists.
The returning classic cards will appeal to longtime fans eager to revisit iconic moments from Pokémon TCG history in a modern presentation. The complete list has not yet been officially revealed, leaving plenty of surprises ahead of release.
Collectors will also be keeping a close eye on the new Futuristic Rare cards, which introduce an entirely new rarity to the game for the first time in this anniversary expansion.
Finally, exclusive promotional cards including Sylveon ex, Greninja ex, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Espeon ex, Umbreon ex, and the ETB-exclusive Nidorina will make several sealed products attractive additions to many collections.

How It Compares to Celebrations (2021)
Many fans naturally compare this release to Pokémon Celebrations, the franchise's 25th anniversary expansion. While both sets honor Pokémon's history, 30th Celebration introduces several features that make it unique.
It is the first simultaneous worldwide release for a major Pokémon TCG expansion. Every playable card in every booster pack is foil. Every pack includes one of thirty different Pikachu illustration cards. The set introduces the brand-new Futuristic Rare rarity. And the anniversary product rollout extends across the entire fall season.
Rather than simply revisiting the past, 30th Celebration blends nostalgia with entirely new ideas for collectors.
Pricing
The Pokémon Company has not announced official MSRP for every product in the lineup. Retail pricing may vary depending on region and retailer, and availability could influence market prices after release. As official pricing becomes available, we will update this guide with confirmed information.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating
Thirty years is an extraordinary achievement for any trading card game. Few games remain as popular, accessible, and influential across multiple generations as the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
With its first-ever simultaneous global launch, all-foil booster packs, thirty collectible Pikachu illustrations, thirty returning classic cards, a brand-new rarity, and months of anniversary products, Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration is shaping up to be one of the franchise's most memorable releases.
Whether you are opening your very first booster pack or have been collecting for decades, this anniversary is one collectors around the world will experience together for the first time.
